• Slip
  Caused by oil ingress on friction plate. This can cause partial or total loss of drive, vehicle speed is also lower than normal when compared with engine speed. 

• Drag
  This happens when the clutch cable is not at the correct adjustment or if the centre plate is sticking on spline. This causes great difficulty when engaging in gears, especialy when first or reverse is selected. 

• Judder
  This is caused by warped friction plate or engine/gearbox mounts broken. This would cause a shudder and vibration as the vehicle moves from a stantionary position.

Before getting a new clutch fitted it is vital to get it checked. Many of the above sysmptoms could indicate an issue with the clutch, whilst the real fault may be something completely different such as engine revving, slipping fan belt or minor adjustment.
